Some remarks regarding the Knemeyer and its use.
- The Bedienungsanleitung (user manual) is frequently offered on Ebay by seller 'Luftraid'. These are copies of the original German version;
- At the International Meeting of Collectors of Historical Calculating Instruments this year (September in the Netherlands) the focus will be on the use of calculation instruments (slide-rules) in Aviation;
- During this meeting the Knemeyer and its contemporaries will be discussed. Especiallly the use of the Knemeyer will be explained;
- At the moment the development of the Dreieckrechner from 1935 (Dr2) until 1945 (Dr4) is studied by putting together the different pieces collected by several people and analyse the differences within and between the different marks. This will hopefully help to understand the differences and development of the Knemeyer over the years;
- I am researching the life of Siegfried Knemeyer (amongst others the developer/inventor of the Knemeyer). I hope to collect enough information to write a book on this very intriguing person in German (and American) aviation. I would very much like to hear from anyone who has information on Knemeyer that he is willing to share.
