Fund raising for the Luftwaffe by overseas Germans?

A recent book, "Gifts of War", details the very large number of aircraft gifted to the RAF by overseas British communities. Obviously, the great majority came from fund raisers within the British Dominions and Colonies and the Indian Empire.

However, well over a hundred were gifted through funds raised by British communities in South America.

The German community in South America was much larger than the British community. Did they raise funds for the Luftwaffe in the same way in 1940-41, before most Latin American countries broke off diplomatic relations after Pearl Harbour?

The British wrote the donor's name in yellow letters below the cockpit (i.e. Uruguay XII on a Spitfire).

Did the Germans have similar donated aircraft and, if so, were they distinguished in any way?

Many thanks,

Sid.
