I realize a lot of time has past since the orginal posting. The first picture is of the 33rd FG taking off from the Chenango as it was off of Casablanca on November 10th, 1942. This is most likely a plane from the 60th FS since they were the first off of the carrier. They landed at Port Lyautey. The take offs were halted due to damaged runways and resumed the next day. The second picture is of one of the practice take offs while still in the states. This would be on October 15th, 1942. You can see the yellow surrounds have not yet been painted on the national ensignia. I got this from (then Lt.) Charles Duncan's diary which he has been kind enough to send me a copy of. He was Squadron CO of the 60th FS at that time. The last shot is a plane from the 325th FG taking off from the Ranger on January 19th, 1943.
