Hptm. Peter Kögl was the commander of the Stuka-Gruppe IV.(St.)/LG 1 since November 1937.
On 14-06-1940 the group attacks the fortresses Püttlingen and Valette, parts of the Maginot-Line in the south of Saarbrücken. Time of this mission was 0857 to 1030.
After hit by artillery his Ju 87B crashed near Cappel, damaged 80%.
Hptm Kögl and his crewman Ofw. Ernst Stichel were killed.
Peter Kögl was born 17-01-1908 in Hagen, Stichel 6-8-1914 in Küstrin.
