The LW was the subject of too many political pressures and consequently took many bad strategical decisions.
For instance, the decision to give up the night intruder missions over England, leaving the RAF bombers take-off, assemble and then land without interference from Oct. 41 till the end of the war (apart from "Operation Gisela"), just because Hitler wanted the British bombers been shot down over Germany to prove his people that the LW was properly doing its job.
