I am a bit shocked with the info you put! Only Russ Bannock fired this night? As far as I know and as far as I have found on my small amount of books ( I am no hot shot like some guys here on the forum ) there were 3 ( up to now ) Bf 110 Gs German losses:
1) .11/ NJG 1 - werknummer???? - G9+?? - Hptm Georg-Hermann Greiner and his bordfunker who died
2) .5/ NJG 1 - werknummer???? - G9+??? - Uffz Manfred Sacher and Uffz Wilhelm Wurschitz ( fate unknown )? Where were they shot down??? Hour??
3) Schulstaffel NJG 6 - werknummer????? - codes 2Z+QX
Machine flown by: Fw Hans Schurich ( WIA ), Uffz Albert Windolph ( + ) and Ogfr. Kremer ( ok ). Shot down East of Roedelsee airfield. Someone on another FORUM said to me that this was probably the claim of Russ Bannock, although I do not know the location of this German A/D.
Do you know where the claim of Bannock was submitted? At which hour?
Glad for your help and answers...Were the other German crews lost due to engine problems or shot down by their own FLAK?
