[Eddie Fell]

Re the 5/NJG1 aircraft.

According to 'Confounding the Reich' by Bowman/Cushing, this was Me 110 GN+EN Wrk Nr. 440384 flown by Oberleutnant Gottfied Hanneck. His crew were Uffz. Erich Sacher (radar/radio op) and Uffz. Willi Wurschitz (normally a radar op but acting as air gunner).
They were shot down by F/Lt. Bill House and F/Sgt. Robert Denison MacKinnon of 85 Sqn. The aircraft crashed at Birresborn in the Eifel at 23.35hrs 13/9/44 killing the crew. Hanneck baled out and landed east of Pruem in the Eifel.
