LW attacks on Atlantic ports, June 1940.

On 21 June, 1940 the French merchant ship "Mécanicien Principal Carvin" which was anchored off the Gironde estuary (near Bordeaux) came under air attack. Various attacks had been made against Atlantic ports, and "a group of planes" was spotted near 2 pm with a twin-engined German plane dropping two "big bombs" at 2:05 pm (captain's report), both hitting the ship and the second wrecking the engine. The plane came back for a strafing run, and the ship sunk later that day.

My question: can anyone tell me what unit the attacking aircraft belonged to, or point me to a source that would help find out?

Thanks in advance
