Yes they did, for example this from Ultra message BT 9693
Fl.Div. 15 on 5th [April 1945] stated that 1./NAG 1 ready for ops from 6th with 7 Me 262 recce aircraft in Zerbst. Recce in depth as far as area Kornbach-Giessen-Frankfurt possible only with Me 262. Proposed that a recce Rotte be composed of one recce Me 262 and one fighter Me 262.
Reasons: (a) Me 262 recce aircraft unarmed; (b) attack on Allied fighter and recce aircraft would cause Allies extreme uneasiness and uncertainty; (c) thus with luck some respite might be obtained for using orthodox recce aircraft. Accordingly allocation of 3 or 4 Me 262 requested and 1 Me 262 in addition to assure continuity of operations.
Comment: NAG 1 transferred to Zerbst on 2nd (see BT 9408)
