Re: Uffz Sawallisch JG 27
Hello Nokose,
Looking for informations about victories of Ofw. Erwin Sawallisch from Stab/JG 27 in Tony Wood’s list, I’ve found following claims (all without numbers):
25 Aug. 41 – 1 I-153
11 Sept. 41 – 1 Pe-2
4 Oct. 41 – 2 I-18 and 2 DB-3
Unfortunatelly I haven’t found any victory claimed by him on 21 Sept. but it is very possible that this list is incomplete. The only claim for a whole JG 27 on this day I've found was 1 I-18 claimed by Ofw. Franz Blazytko from 9./JG 27 (place no indicated).
As I know, in his short period of combat flying on the East Front, Sawallisch claimed 9 victories. Including these mentioned by You from 21 Sept., there is still 1 missing.
Do You know, when did he claim it and what type of a/c was it?
Regards
Nef
