MARAUDER search

Gentlemen !

I am seeking for a B-26 MARAUDER s/n, which came down in the winter 1944/45 near Lambertsberg, Germany, which is located 17 km Northwest of Bitburg and 18 km due East of the Luxembourg border.

The aircraft came down at extremely low level and with only one crew-member, who was hanging in his chute-harness outside of the aircraft. Shortly before the aircraft touched the surfacce, it hit a power-pole and sled almost like belly-landing into a little vally.

The dead crew-member, no other crew-members were on board, was taken away from the scene by German soldiers and buried at the Lambertsberg local cemetary.

On 10 February 1946, the body was disinterred as an (unknown body) by
AGRC under the number X-3365 at St. Avold U.S. Military Cemetary.

By an other research for another case, the spot at Lambertsberg was visited again in 1948 by FFC - A.G.R.C.

Here, they found in the wreckage three cal .50 machine-guns with the
numbers: 1064317
1066317
1066357

Additionally, they removed a plate from the wreckage and the following number was found: Model B-26-B, Serial No. 2880

Can anyone help me to give a trace to this particular aircraft. ?

The given machine-gun serial-numbers do not show up in AFHRA- microfilm # A1115 !

Thank you very much !
