This was the 27th May 1942 - The Blenheim was V5568 of 1401 Met Flight - Crew: F/O W. Marshall, F/S P. Thimblebee and F/S A. Groves - all were killed 27.04.42 (confirmed CWGC website). The assumption is that Brennan realised his mistake, then broke away and headed for the Dutch coast. There he commenced strafing until his aircraft was shot down by flak and crashed at Velsen. He is also listed killed 27.04.42 (confirmed CWGC website). |
