The Micky Maus was always in a Blue disc for the official insignia of 1./ JG 51 from september 39 till the 5th august 40.

After this date when Joppien took over the command of the staffel, he add a white line surrounding the blue disc.

But as I told you already in october 39 Joppien in White 5 and Maul in White 12 had surrounded the blue disc with the white line.

It exist a photo showing all the staffel of 1./ JG 51 on the stairs of Chateau de guines in august 40 when Joppien took the command of the staffel and at the left side of the wall the blue disc outlined of the white and the famous Micky.
