Re: Lt.Thomas H Brown 373FG

Michel,
I found this statement in an after action report:

Statement

I was leading Turmoil Blue section on a dive-bombing mission on 16 November 1944. Lt Brown was flying Turmoil Yellow two position and as we approached the target I saw his ship burst into flames and start down. I believed he received a direct hit from heavy enemy flak in one of the napalm bombs his ship was loaded with. The ship started down , rolled over on its back and went into a spin. After about five turns I saw something leave the plane which I soon saw was Lt Brown. His chute opened for a few seconds. The ship continued straight down and crashed in flames.

I last saw Lt. Brown going down in his parachute in the vicinity of Obermertz

Clarence Hough,

1st Lt, Air Corps

Obermerz is near Siersdorf north of Dueren.

Hope you find it on the map. You are not far away.

Cheers

Joerg D.
