				Re: Carrier Trials for P-51s and B-25s, 1943/44
			 
 There is a story that the first Seafire from Cunliffe Owen lacked the usual strengthening parts.  The squadron commander kept it polished as his personal aircraft, and enjoyed the superior performance whilst operating perfectly happily from the carrier.  Sadly, when he went on leave it was allocated to a junior pilot, who wiped off the tail on his first landing.
 Awkward interviews for some when the CO came back.....
