I certainly am not an expert on interpreting old black and white photographs with all the subtleties that arise from the orthochromatic type film generally used but most profiles nowadays, such as those by respected artist Claes Sundin, show the under cowling to be yellow and the spinner as white and black. Here is a rather poor quality scan in which the light colored under cowl as compared to the red RV fuselage band shows well (Windows XP Scanner and Camera Wizard is not the best scanner software).
