Re: Stuka w/Retract gear

hello,
I was reading in my books the following about retractable landing gear:
source: scale aircraft modeling
volume 9 number 12 september 1987
stuka article written by:Alan W.Hall
....page 537....Lesser known variants, the ju 87 g was the last version of the aircraft to be built in any numbers.Subsequently the final production version was the ju 87 H wich was a dual control trainer based on the D variant. Most of these were converted from that model having no dives brakes and a pair of transparant blisters added to the rear cockpit to improve the instructor's view.
A further attempt to radicaly update the basic Ju 87 was begun in the spring of 1941. originaly designed ju 87 F this had an increased wing span, retracting undercarriage and a dorsal barbette in place of the rear gunner's possition with a canon and machine gun armement.desing work was compleeted early 1943 and was re-designated Junkers JU 187 but because it schowed only marginally improved performance over the existing ju 87 D it was scrapped....
as a matter the author didn't mension the source.
hopefully this will help you
kindly regards
phil mertens
