Re: ID of RAF Ace in 1940?

Hello,

In fact there were two major engagements between the RAF and Regia Aeronautica in November 1940, on 11 and 23.
Without having any hint on aicraft or when the picture was taken, a guess on the pilot could be P/O Ronald Berry of 603 Squadron (Spitfires), who claimed his ninth solo victory on 23/11 when he claimed a CR.42. This was his last claim for almost a year and the eight previous had been Luftwaffe aircraft. He ended the war with 14 and 10 shared destroyed.

For more info on the Italians in November 1940 see my site at: http://surfcity.kund.dalnet.se/falco_bob.htm

Best wishes/Håkan
