Ju 88 crew who claimed S/L Soper on 5th October 1941
I promiss this will be the last one for a few weeks!
On 5th October 1941, S/L Soper ( 257 Squadron - sorry I think I wrote 247 on the last thread ) and his wingmen intercepted another Junkers Ju 88 which they claimed damaged, 30 miles NE of Happisburgh.
The Ju 88 gunner fought bravely and well, hitting the Hurricane of S/L Soper, who went down and died.
Any INFORMATION available about the Ju 88 crew? To which unit they belonged? Did they manage to return to their base? How many were wounded or died in the combat against the Hurricanes?
