Many thanks for that Bengt, clears up several little mysteries.
A further question if I may - does the ORB or the appendix you refer to give any indication whether W/C Maurice's aircraft was damaged before he was bounced? I've read one or two accounts which claim he'd lost an engine but went on pressing home an attack on a ship.
