Remember that the "AS" with the MW 50 had 1800HP which allowed the usege of a big prop.

The 'big prop' was clearly meant for high altitude work with the /AS engines ie. high altitude engines. They were associated with high altitude types, wheter they had MW 50 or not. The low/medium alt. G-14 wheter with MW50 or not kept using the old prop as in G-1 through G-6.
As far as I know and have been told, Erla was responsible to produce some G-14s for training purposes, hence the lack of MW 50 boost in some planes (thx to Rasmussen for this info).
