Lowestoft, Suffolk - 13 January 1942
Dear all,
I am attempting to research the bombing of the Suffolk town of Lowestoft during the blitz. Just before 4.30 pm on Tuesday 13 January 1942 a twin engined Luftwaffe bomber (described by a Police Constable as a Dornier) dropped 4 x High Explosive bombs on the town centre. The resulting blast destroyed a large number of commercial premises along London Road North and killed 70 and injured 116.
Could anyone assist in identifying which aircraft/unit was involved please?
Thanks in advance
Jonny
