Hi Gerry & all,

Official version is the one about engine / smoke problem but possibility that some German fighter set a few of round into Sgt Chalupa´s a/c is in the air.
Sgt Chalupa t/o from Duxford at 2.30pm and b/o at about 3pm near by Ely. He was youngest pilot of the 310 Sqn at that time. His Hurricane P3143, NN-D was most successful machine of the squadron with six confirmed enemy a/c.
