1e/GR II/33 commanded by Cne René Gavoille operated the F-4A and F-5A during 1943. The unit was based at Maison Blanche, Algeria from May43 and was declared operational 12Jul43. I believe it was subordinate to 3PRMG/PRG (USAAF)

It was an EX Vichy unit. It was an Allied Unit by 1943.
