Thanks for yours re Lancasters.
I have been to the Woodford Heritage Centre today going through the Lancaster parts books to see if I could identify your bit. However, despite looking I couldn't see anything that resembled it, but as there are 120,000 items on a Lanc I guess it was a long shot. Sorry.
It remains a mystery!
