Re: Geschwaderkommodore
Thanks Andy
It looks like Carlsen/Meyer must have made an error. Checking the Kommodore of NJG 101 and 102 they list the same individuals in both units at the same time and also have two persons as Kommodore at the same time for NJG 102 (didn't see that until now, since it was rather unexpected...)
This is what they say
NJG 101 NJG 102
Rudolf Stoltenhoff 20.3.43-6.2.44 Albert Blumensaat 15.12.43-Feb 44
Franz Evers 7.2.44-14.3.45 Franz Evers Feb.44-31.5.44
Karl Theodor Hülshoff 1.6.44-25.3.45
Herbert Sewing 7.2.44 - 27.2.45
I guess we can scrub Sewing as being with NJG 102 at all, and with Evers in NJG 102 at the time he was supposed to take over NJG 101, the latter does not seem likely. I think it is most likely Herbert Sewing was the Kommodore of NJG 101 as Holm states. However I notice that Sewing was Kommodore only up to 27.2.45. Is it possible Evers took over after him and was the last Kommodore of the unit?? Both Holm and Carlsen/Meyer agree that the Stab was disbanded on 15.3.45....
Cheers
Stig
