Re: Norman L. McDonald

Mr. Zdenek,
I do not have the information you seek on his date of promotion to L/C; however, Maj McDonald was a member of the 325th FG as I was and flew with it from 26 Nov 1944 until the end of the war, in May 1945. We show him with 11 victories, 4 with the 325th, the rest with the 52nd FG which he was initially assigned to. I also have a short bio of him stating that he had 11½ victories although the drawing of his aircraft shows 12 crosses and refers to him as Lt/Col McDonald. He was born in 1918 in Framingham, MA, lived there in 1999 with his wife Helen, but shows up as deceased in our 2005 roster. I also have a short bit about his 52nd FG experience together with the dates and types of victories he had in the 325th FG, but I am sure you know that already. He flew #66 with the name Shu Shu on the left side and Chuck-O on the right side of the nose.
Cordially, Art Fiedler
