Prudent, maybe, but certainly not a given.
As long as people are volunteering information, its logical that you return that effort with some level of respect.
Of course we all welcome the most in depth answers, we can at least try to provide them ourselves, but we can't demand them, nor even expect them.
I've noticed that the level of answers is often dictated by type of question. Short questions seem to generate short answers.
Questions with an in depth introduction and signs of preliminary research often generate similar answers.
Personally I certainly weigh my type of answer relative to the type of question.
In the end your behaviour dictates the amount of success you will have on this forum, since it remains a community driven beast. Be respectful and get respect in return.
