Hi,

The numbers you show, cast in the metal, appear to be part/casting numbers rather than an engine number. The DB engine numbers that I have come across previously have either been painted on the block, stamped on a key engine part, or stamped/etched onto an alloy manufacturer plate riveted onto a key engine part.

However, I accept that I may be totally wrong!
