My father was in 42nd Bomb Sqdn (H) from 1940 until 1945. He may have known the pilot.

A lady sent me a photo of my father with the crew of a B-17 he was a gunner on. It was taken 12/10/1941 three days after the attack. They were flying around Hawaii looking for Japanese.

The ladys' Uncle was the pilot a man named Cox on the date of 12/10/1941. On Easter Sunday 1942 , my father being a Tech Sgt. did not go out for patrol. That very day this B-17 hit a mountain in Hawaii coming back as did a B-24 the same day. Everyone was lost.

I will try to send the photo and names. The 42 Squadron was the first Army Air Corp to go into the Pacific after the Japanese Attack.
