Loss Do 217 Wnr 5598 3./KG2 on 9/10th March 1943
Dear all,
In the evening of 9th March 1943 at 22.40 hrs Do 217E-4 U5+CL Wnr 5598 of 3./KG2 crashed near Zaandam, The Netherlands.
FF Ofw Erich Schreiber was found dead near the wreckage. He was buried on 13th March 1943 at Amsterdam. The body of BF Gefr Hans Helfensteller was found in 1956 during the recovery of the wreckage.
I wonder if someone has acces to the Namentliche Velustmeldung or General Quartermeister Returns for the names of the other two crew members who managed to bail out?
