He111 loss 27 February 1940
At mid day ‘Blue’ Section 152 Sqn was ordered to patrol near Farne Island. At approxiamately 1345hrs they spotted an enemy aircraft which was identified as a He115. The aircraft was attacked by Wildblood (Blue 2) and Jones (Blue 3) and was reported to have come down in the sea 10 miles off Coquet Island, Northumberland.
The aircraft was reportadly a HE111 from 2/KG26.
Does anyone know were it was based, it's werke/code number and any crew details. Did the crew survive to be taken prisoner?
Also would anyone know the identity of the third Gladiator pilot Blue 1?
Thanks,
Alex
