Not to worry about any delay - I appreciate the anyone taking the time out of their schedules to post. Forgive my ignorance regarding the roles of the various Luftwaffe fighter units - if these beefed up 190's were indeed JG1's, what would a unit normally assigned to ground attack be doing defending against an incoming bomber mission? Since the 3/3/44 mission was the first attempt at bombing Berlin, is it safe to assume that with the target being the capital that it was an 'all hands' siuation, that is any availbale unit was scrambled to assist in the defense despite it's normal duties? Just curious.
