On June 11,1944 Lt.Andrew Calhoun was force to land on one of hastily prepared air strips on the beachhead after his P-47D was damage by flak .Major John Carey landed his P-47D "Mary Prechus" code letters A8-M and picked him where they flew back to base.
The were from the 381 FS 366 FG.
Major Carey claimed 5 ground kills and was CO. of the 381 FS ,he is on the left.Completeed tour.
Lt.Andrew Calhoun was KIA on June 22.1944 by Fw 190's.
