Could the U5 + FS be WNr 2549 on 15 September 1940? This is only speculation, although the apparent location, damage and code letters could be made to "fit", the fates of the crew of 2549 on the other hand (I killed, 3 missing) might be harder to rationalise with this photo.
I am sure Peter Cornwell or Chris Goss might have a view or some ideas?
