John, thanks. The top hat illustration, although atypical makes sense.

Pavel actually I don't know that this is 1940. You're right, this could be a 1939-era photo although, IRC 2./ZG1 flew the Bf110B during the Polish Campaign, and did not re-equip with the Bf110C until about October. It could be after then, however. I note that there is no sign of the extra-large underwing crosses instituted in mid-October, 1939.

So, would 2./ZG1 still have been using early-version Bf110C-1s into 1940? Perhaps John Vasco has an opinion on that?

Does anyone know of any other photos of this bird, perhaps showing the emblem more clearly?
