This thread interested me because there is an Oblt Kurt Baumgartner on the crew of the Ju 290 A-5, 9V+DK, Wk Nr 0177 of 2/FAG 5 whose captain was Hptm Karl-Friedrich Bergen. Do you have more information about this airman?
Was he the Beobachter? Chris Goss, do you have his LW service number or any information about his backgrounds? ( If he served with other LW recon units, for example )? I am gathering information about the Baumgartners in the Second World War and would appreciate any new information about this airman.
