This question has stuck in my mind since I saw it. I remember seeing excerpts from a Deutsche Wochenschau which included the sound (apparently) of aircraft weapons on the soundtrack, but these were only fragments, usually with a narrator speaking over the top.
Anyway, I finally found a complete copy of the newsreel, with a nice clean soundtrack on (where else) You Tube:

You can check out the sound of weapons for yourself. I can make out at least two distinct sounds (20 mm + 30 mm cannon?), but others on the forum may be able to say what weapons produce what sounds.
