Re: Help with search for information on RAF aircrew

Hi Leendert.

Thanks for the response.

I am struggling for information because I know so few details. I knew George because I lived next door to him. He had long since retired from the RAF. He lived in Sheffield, which is not very far from Grimsby. His wife was called Millie (Mildred) and they never had any children. He once showed me a portrait photograph of him in his RAF uniform. He had some model aircraft of the types he flew (and flew against) of which he was very proud of: a Beaufighter, a Mosquito, a Japanese Betty and a Dinah.

I have nothing else about him, but would love to know more. The problem I have is that I am not a relative, and therefore cannot search through official records because I cannot claim next of kin. As they never had children, I do not know who could possibly claim that now.

Any help to narrow down the search is gratefully received. How many squadrons flew both Beaufighters and Mosquitos in Burma?

Best regards,

Nacluv
