Thanks guys, this clarifies some things but but raises some issues. I should have spotted that reference in "Battle of France". I found some more Larry notes on this guy that raise a few questions:
Was he ever an officer "im Generalstab" ?
When he was released from being a POW in 1943 due to wounds, wasn't it more likely to be due to wounds received in 1943 than in 1940?
Did he lose an arm? The photo suggests not, but prosthetics can be deceiving.
Larry apparently has a lot more on this guy but we need to confirm a few things.
Anyway, its been interesting.
