Well, it's not as clever as you might think, because the fighter would need to fly under the target bomber at a distance of 50 - 100m. That would mean that the fighter would need to fly through an entire box of bombers to reach his target, which would be close to suicidal.
A more efficient weapon was the R4M rocket which could be launched at a distance of 600 - 800m (as specified in a Mar 45 report by JGr 10) and was set to cover a particular pattern of sky that was supposed to cover the shape of the bomber. In fact, that rocket, in an updated form, is still in use today. In the 60s it was called the Mickey Mouse. I'm not sure what it's called today.
