Re: Focke-Wulf Data Plate

Nice plate - congratulations! My opinion: it’s a component plate, and the Werk-Nr (“1103”) is not the (host) airframe’s. I do not have a 190 parts breakdown, but perhaps someone can identify Sach Nr “8-190.125-04”.

Here are several other examples of this style plate common to 190s. http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.p...zddzyy&thumb=4 Leaving no doubt, the top plate identifies both the 190 model and airframe Werk (or Bau) Nr.; the maker code “hmw” is for Norddeutsche Dornier-Werke. The next plate (marked with “FW190” and Werk-Nr “4003014”) is a component/part plate. The seven-digit Werk-Nr. is not correct for a 190 airframe, and “HDT” is the code for Markischer Metallbau rather than a Fw 190 primary manufacturer. The bottom plate is also a component/part plate, apparently built in-house by Focke Wulf. Here the component ID number is “8/190.125/28” with production Werk Nr “1080/B”.

As always, I welcome other opinions and additional information.

Steve
