The Service No quoted by Leendert has an R in front of it. This normally indicates a Canadian non-commissioned airman. If it is correct I believe the Canadians are more open about releasing personnel records this long after the war and an approach to them might bring results that would not be available to a non relative in UK.To be in the RCAF need not require Canadian citizenship and RCAF pesonnel were spread throughout RAF Sqns.
