Incidentally, the Mont Sacon is more commonly known as Tourroc (near Mauléon-Barousse), and the crest line culminating at the Tourroc finishes 1 or 2 km away in Pic de Sarrat (Aragnouet). Condidering the near inability of the American or German clerks during WWII to spell French names properly, I would say this is a hell of a coincidence for crash locations after an aerial collision... 4 km away there is also the resting place of a SOE Halifax and its crew (pic du Douly). Ceremonies are still held at the crash site nowadays.
