"Serial Range Z8328 - Z8377. 50 Wellington Mk.11. Part of a batch of 450 Wellington Mk.1C/11/V111.
Z8570 experimentally fitted by Rolls-Royce with a Rover-built W2B 'booster unit' (Whittle Jet Engine). Z8416 for Vickers 'S' Gun tests. Airborne 1834 20Jan42 from Binbrook.
Shot down by a night-fighter (Oblt Ludwig Becker, 6./NJG2) and crashed 2100 on, or very close to the Dutch Friesian island of Terschelling. Those killed are buried on the island in Westerschelling General Cemetery. Oblt Ludwig Becker submitted two further claims, timed at 2107 and 2137, which would account for the loss of Z1110, and Z1207.
