I don't believe that the 4th flew any Mk.VIIIs, and the Mk.Vc seems unlikely.

The 31st and 52nd flew Mk.VIIIs and Mk.IXs, but there was no Trop suffix to the designation.

There were of course many other types flown in support roles, including Tiger Moth, Oxford, Master, Dominie, and Hurricane.

There was also a recce group with the Spitfire Mk.Vb - the 67th? later the PR Mk.XI.

The USAAF also flew PR Mosquitoes, initially the F-8 (Mk.IV) but later the Mk.XVI
