Hi,
There was a version of the Ju 52, which was outfitted with an extensive communications suite. It was used as a make-shift control tower when a field was being used for aircraft operations, before a proper infrastructure could be established.
AFAIR they were used in connection with the airborne assaults on Aalborg and Oslo in April 1940. These airports were captured to serve as Luftwaffe bases supporting the invasion of Norway.
