JGr West - 24 January 1944

Hi guys

Many thanks for your replies. I was particularly interested in the loss data for Otto Stammberger, who in all sources I have seen, was wounded in an accident while serving with JGr West on 24 January 1944. Now it appears that he was serving with JGr Ost instead. Apparently he had been transferred to that unit sometime in January 1944 as he had been wounded in aerial combat with B-17 four-engined bombers on 31 December 1943 and forced to bale out of his Fw 190 A-1 (W.Nr. 0110 073) near Castels while serving with 3./JGr West. Many thanks for your help!

Horrido!

Leo
