Wondering if there is any info on Oblt. Hans Schaefer, pilot with 7/NJG2. Specifically claims on night of 16/17 June 1944.
One claim was my uncle and rest of crew on a Halifax - LK801 with 434 squadron. Uncle was only one not to survive the shoot down. 4 of crew became POW's however 2 evaded.
Initially I was to believe Oblt. Erich Lippert was nightfighter pilot responsible, however in past couple weeks I received new information, now just following up with lead.
A photo and some biographical information would be great. Also created this web site for 434 squadron and uncle.
