I donīt know how it works in other countries. Here in Brasil I can finish a manuscript and register it at National Library (Biblioteca Nacional). Then I get a register number plus a certificate. After that, in case my manuscript be plagied after offering it to publishes I have a proff to bhe the author of the work. Of couse it means a legal battle but I have not only the register but can also show who has the books, contacts and even photos for the book.
Must confess to not know in case I offer the manuscript for publishing in another country how I could fight against this...
